Counsellor
Karen is a qualified counsellor, accredited Parent Hope clinician, and trained in Bowen Family Systems theory. She brings vast life and parenting experience to her professional qualifications.
Karen understands that life and relationships can be complex, even difficult. By understanding the dynamics of our family, we can gain fresh insight and create new opportunities for real change. Karen works in a calm, caring, and confidential environment with parents to build a growth environment for a struggling. Symptomatic child and to improve all aspects of their family relationships.
Having spent many years working with families, Karen recognises the complex challenges facing couples and parents today. She seeks to guide parents in ways that bring hope and build confidence in their own capabilities to relate well. In particular, Karen is committed to assisting parents to relate effectively with a struggling or symptomatic child, without judgement or blame. Karen is accredited to use the Parent Hope Project manualised parent programs developed by Dr Jenny Brown.
Karen enjoys working with people of all backgrounds and cultures and is respectful of each client’s belief system.
